Can you hear the sounds of summer? School children are on break and laughing along with the warm weather thrills of bike riding, swimming and playgrounds. Thompson Education Foundation (TEF) staff and volunteers enjoy the warm weather as much as our students do but remain focused on the Help Kids Succeed (HKS) school supply program in preparation for the next school year. It is vitally important that necessary school supplies be available for economically challenged students on the first day of school so they are given the opportunity to be successful in their classrooms.

In 2017, TEF and our volunteers will fill 1,500 backpacks with necessary school supplies. This means that approximately 1 in every 10 students in Thompson School District would be unprepared without our help.

Thompson Education Foundation welcomes DONATIONS for Help Kids Succeed. When making a decision as to how much to help, consider that a new backpack filled with supplies for a K-12 student costs, on average, $75. Working with purchasing partners, TEF is able to provide the same backpack for $20, allowing more students to benefit from program donations. Only $20 brings a smile to a student’s face; $100 brings that smile to five faces.

Because of the discounts TEF can receive on supplies, we do not offer a long-term community supply pick up/delivery opportunity. If you prefer to purchase new supplies, TEF will accept donations from 9:00 am - 2 pm ONLY on Monday, July 24 at Conrad Ball Middle School, 2660 Monroe Avenue, Loveland. Please provide supplies from this LIST.

If your family needs help with obtaining school supplies, please request backpacks in August 2017 at the school your student is registered to attend. For example, if you have an elementary student and a middle school student, a backpack should be requested at each school (supplies differ between elementary/middle/high). If your school is out of backpacks, please ask the secretary to contact TEF.
