Thompson Education Foundation (TEF) has partnered with Gallegos Sanitation, Inc. to award a GREEN GRANT to a teacher implementing a project that promotes the ideals of sustainability for students in the Thompson School District through Environmental Education (EE). A teacher or professional staff member will be selected to receive a grant of up to $1,000 for the 2015-2016 school year.
Considerations for applicants are to be in the areas of environmental focus which include:
• Conservation of natural resources through preservation , protection or restoration of the natural environment, natural eco-systems, vegetation and wildlife
• Reducing the impacts of water, air and soil pollution
• Recycling or composting of waste materials
The GREEN GRANT application window is open until Friday, April 3, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. All grant applications received on or before April 3, 2015, will be considered for the 2015-2016 grant period. The grant winner will be notified in May 2015, before the end of the school year.
